Gratitude

The theme of chuch today was Gratitude. It got me thinking, am I greatful enough? Do show my appreciation for others enough? Do I let the people I love know? Here are a few things Io am greatful for:

Diors Top Ten:

*My husband and children

*My Family, Mom Dad Brothers and Sister

*The Gospel, maybe that should be number one

*The relation ship I have with my Father in Heaven

*Sunsets

*My healthy body and even my bum knee that reminds me how lucky I am that this is the only thing wrong with me!( and self inflicted from running)

*THe BIG FAT TURKEY, I am about to put in the oven, I am thankful for the blessing that my children and family have food to eat every day.

*My education, thanks again to the Scholarship of Paul Burt.

*Being Content with life, being happy

*My home sweet home

Today Ader Tot had a half day at school..hmmm how should I spend that short hour and a half, I thought? Well, what better than to enjoy the cool morning and take a walk up to the post office to mail some ebay things I had sold? Why drive when you can walk..right? I loaded Ellie in our trusty stroller.
Walked about a half a mile when the WHOLE handle broke right off.
OH WELL, I thought it is six years old.
So Ellie and I walked home, I trying very hard to steer the broken stroller with her in it.
I loaded my packages into my backpack and we hopped on the bike to enjoy a nice ride.

One thing happens when you decide to slow down...

LIFE IS ENJOYABLE, EVEN WHEN THE STROLLER BREAKS.

U2..ME TOO

There's just something about a man on a Harley.
Especially this one..isn't he cute!

The concert was Awesome!
I couldn't help but pick out the Celtic tribal drum beat that they repeatedly use in their music, you know I am an expert now since I went on the History of Irish Music Tour in Dublin.
Here are the musicians on the "Pub Crawl Tour" Matt and I were the only ones NOT drinking.
The musicians probably had five Guinness' each in the hour and a half tour.

Other Musicians that have this same Celtic beat that goes bum ba da dum dum are,
Enya, The Flogging Molly's and the Drop kick Murphy's
Maybe that is why so many people respond to U2's music is because the basic beats of their songs have been around for century's and maybe are ingrained in all of us over centuries of time through out ancestors....
OR
Like my Grandma said as we were leaving to go to Ireland..
"You know what my Mother always said," No, I said I don't
She said, "watch out for the bogs."
( My great grandmother was a Canadian Immigrant and traveled on a ship to Canada all by herself when she was a wee laddie.)
This is a bog man, if you fall in a bog which is worse than quicksand you will get stuck and preserved forever. You can still see his red hair!
U2 and Black Eyed Peas were great, Let's all go to the green Isle for a month and travel around. It is so beautiful! Me and my hot pink birk's in a Park in Dublin..don't you love the red door!!

Goin' to Panoka

Let me explain...
My Grandma raised her children on a farm in Magrath Alberta, Canada.
She had seven children, and a farm with limited modern conveniences.. I mean we're talkin' outhouses and coal fire stoves here.
She had farm workers that she also had to feed daily, so between the laundry, cooking, cleaning, baking, sewing, children etc..
She would sometimes call out at her children
" I'm goin' to Panoka." or "You're sending me to Panoka"
(According to my Mom)

AND, this meant that she was going to the loony bin because Panoka was the closest mental health institution to their town.

With that said.....I almost went to Panoka on the way to take Aydan to school yesterday.
I won't bore you with the details of my usual morning routine..but let's just say it's busy.

As I was carrying armloads of stuff out to the car and the kids were trailing behind me, I walked into the garage and unloaded my stuff into the car when I hear........
"AAAHHH...AHHHH....AHHHHH a WOWM, A WOWM....my shoe..

WOWM = Worm in 2 year old speak

Aydan runs into the garage, wide eyed Mom It was an accident!
(yes, we've ALL heard this before)
Holding Ellie's favorite pair of princess flip flops with a slimy, skinny, black WOWM strewn across the front of her shoe..Ellie is having a FIT about the whole thing and carrying on about the "Dead WOWM on my SHOE!"
So I wipe the worm of onto the grass, reassure Ellie that it's all gone, help her get on her shoe and tell Aydan to get in the car.
I pick Ellie up and strap her in her car seat when I see....
The dogs jumped into the car after I had left the car door open and attended the worm drama.
Now this is NOT normal as our dogs do not usually want to ride in the car because they know that we are taking them to the groomer..not merely just going for a ride.
(You can't see very well but there are two of them one is just dark brown under Ellie's Feet ...and Princess shoe.
You can see the side of Aydan's face that he thinks this is pretty funny.. The dogs won't listen to me and get out of the car, so I decide to just take them with us because I am NOT about to get a tardy slip, and we are now running late.
We made it to school and as you can see Kinky here she is pretty content and siting in the front seat next to me, she is the Momma and Alpha..Queen #2

Kinky, being eclipsed by Coco, (Coco is Kinky's baby) See her cute new pink and green collar?

We get home and this one(Kinky) who is as smart as a whip, won't get out of the car. I opened my door and called her but she just looked at me like this in the picture. So I walked all the way around the car and went to open her door..as I did this, she jumped over the console in the front seat into MY chair. I opened the passenger door and she just gave me this same look. So I walked around to the other side of the car. (Coco who is dumb as a box of rocks has already jumped out of the car and is following me around.) And Kinky jumps back to the passenger seat..so now I finally realize that she doesn't want to get out of the car!! I had to go get Matt to help me get her out!

ONE WORD:
PANOKA
